Exporting to Turkey
In recent years the Turkish economy has presented very impressive growth figures, which is expected to continue over the next few years, despite the global economic crisis. Exporting to Turkey is very interesting for Dutch companies based on Turkey’s strategic location as a bridge between Europe and Asia, size, and its relatively young and well-educated labour force.
The Turkish economy in 2013
In the first quarter of 2013 the Turkish economy grew more strongly than expected. The economy grew 3% on an annual basis, while the expectation was 2,3%. The expectation for 2014 is 4%. Currently Turkey is the 16th biggest economy in the world and will surpass the Netherlands this year in 15th position. The past 10 years, the GDP has even tripled.
